MASTERING THE MOUNTAIN INSIDE

therapy that helps you stand tall
Are you finding life tough but not sure where to turn? Maybe you’ve been powering through, keeping busy and putting on a brave face. Underneath it all, though, things just don’t feel right.
You might feel constantly on edge, flat, angry, or numb. Maybe you're stuck in patterns that aren't working anymore - like shutting down; pushing people away or turning to things that help you cope in the moment, but leave you feeling worse in the long-term.
If any of this sounds familiar, you're not alone. These feelings may be the result of the build-up of stress and pressure over time, or they may link back to unprocessed trauma or difficult early life-experiences. Addiction, burnout, or emotional shutdown can feel like personal failure - but they’re often the body’s way of trying to survive pain that hasn’t had space to be healed.
WHAT THERAPY WITH ME LOOKS LIKE
I specialise in supporting people who want to understand what’s really going on underneath the surface - those ready to stop white-knuckling life and start living more connected, meaningful lives.
My therapy is trauma-informed and practical. For many clients, walk and talk therapy in nature helps ease anxiety and open up conversation; others prefer online sessions from home. Together, we work at your pace to build steadier nervous-system regulation, improve relationships, and create change that lasts.
If you’re ready to take the next step, you can learn more about my approach or book a free introductory session.
What if the problem isn’t that you’re broken - but that you’ve been carrying too much, for too long, on your own?
men's mental health support that meets you where you are
Many of the men I work with arrive feeling stuck. They're not always in crisis, but they're not really living either.
On the outside, it looks like everything’s under control - work, family, responsibilities. Inside, it’s overwhelmed, disconnected, or simply numb.
You’re not weak; you’re tired. Tired of being the strong one. Tired of not being able to switch off. Tired of not knowing how to talk about what’s really going on.
That’s where our work begins - to Stand Tall. Together, we walk a different path. It’s not about over-analysing the past or “fixing” you; it’s about reconnecting with your values, rebuilding trust in yourself, and living with more clarity, strength, and purpose.
Whether we’re talking or walking - online or outdoors - I’ll meet you where you’re at. There’s no judgement and no jargon. Just a space where you can stop performing and start being real.
For many clients, walk and talk therapy lowers the pressure and helps conversations flow; others prefer online therapy from home. Either way, we work at your pace.
This is men’s mental health done differently - practical, grounded, and built for real life. It’s about becoming the man you know you could be, one steady step at a time.
Stand Tall - because reaching out is a strength.
A male-friendly space for honest conversation and practical change
a down to earth approach to
therapy & support

Starting therapy can feel daunting – especially when talking about emotions isn’t second nature. My approach to Walk and Talk Therapy and Online Counselling is straightforward, compassionate, and flexible. Therapy doesn’t have to happen in a room or follow a rigid format. It’s about having space to explore, reflect, and decide what you want to change – without judgement or pressure.
🌿 Walk & Talk Therapy
Step outside and let nature set the pace. Whether in Cumbria or the Yorkshire Dales, Walk & Talk Therapy creates a natural rhythm that helps ease anxiety, unlock thoughts, and make space for reflection.
The choice is yours:
-
60 or 90-minute sessions
-
Half-day or full-day sessions for deeper exploration away from the noise
Clients often say that this time outdoors brings clarity and progress in ways they didn’t expect. Walk and Talk Therapy offers a grounded, nature-based approach to emotional wellbeing - practical, calming, and deeply human.
🌍 Online Therapy- Flexible Support Wherever You Are
If getting to therapy in person isn’t possible or comfortable, Online Therapy offers a simple and flexible alternative. Using Zoom, we can connect from the comfort of your own space - whether you’re at home, travelling, or based outside Cumbria.
You’ll still receive the same grounded, trauma-informed approach that underpins all my work. The difference is that Online Therapy gives you freedom: no travel and the ability to fit sessions around your life and schedule.
Many people find that starting therapy online helps them build confidence in the process. It offers privacy, consistency, and time to reflect between sessions. Some clients even combine Online Therapy with Walk and Talk Therapy - taking sessions outside while we speak remotely - creating a sense of movement and connection wherever they are.
Online Therapy is suitable for addressing a range of issues including stress, anxiety, burnout, trauma, and addiction. All you need is a quiet space and a reliable internet connection.
